Foreign nationals studying under principles other than those applicable to Polish citizens

Legal framework

Foreigners may start and continue studies under principles other than those applicable to Polish citizens under the following:
  1. international agreements, under the provisions thereof;
  2. agreements concluded with international higher education institutions, under the provisions thereof;
  3. decision of the Minister of Science and Higher Education;
  4. decision of the university Rector;
  5. valid Polish Card***;
  6. citizens of a Member State of the European Union, the Swiss Confederation or the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA) - a party to the EEC Agreement***.
NOTE!
*** Persons eligible under these criteria can choose the enrolment mode. They may study under the same principles as applicable to Polish citizens and under principles other than those applicable to Polish citizens (scholarship granted by the Republic of Poland or an international agreement with other higher education institutions).

Foreign nationals applying for studying under principles other than those applicable to Polish citizens may do so when:
  • they pay tuition;
  • are Polish scholarship holders (Scholarship of the Republic of Poland);
  • they do not pay tuition and do not receive scholarship (to get more information please contact to The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange);
  • are holders of scholarships granted by the sending party and do not pay tuition (Information to be found on the website of the government of your country of origin).

ENROLMENT:

  • Enrolment for applicants under principles other than those applicable to Polish citizens commences on 1 June 2018 and concludes on 31 August 2018.
  • To enter the enrolment procedure, register at the online enrolment system - Internetowa Rekrutacja (IR) - and upload a complete set of required documents.
NOTE!
  • In the case of some study subjects, e.g. Sound Directing, Acoustics and programs carried out in English, applicants will take part in a conversation checking their special predisposition.
  • The application is processed only upon the submission of all the required documents. A decision concerning a candidate's admission is issued within two weeks.
