The aim of the second-cycle studies in Russian Philology is to deepen competence in the Russian language and to improve translation and interpreting skills. The study of English is also an integral part of the curriculum. The skills and linguistic competences acquired in the course of second-cycle studies should enable the graduates to undertake professional work in the field corresponding or similar to their specialisation. The graduates of the second-cycle studies in Russian philology have also the possibility of undertaking the third-cycle (doctoral) studies.

- scholarship offer (e.g. Rector's scholarship for academic achievements),
- developing one's own interests, e.g. in the East Slavonic Academic Circle,
- the equivalence of a diploma of part-time studies with a diploma obtained in the full-time mode of teaching.

Graduates of the East Slavic Philology / Russian Philology major have:
- in-depth knowledge and skills in a second language of the major subject and in a foreign language of Western Europe,
- communicative competence in general and specialised language, profiled for general communication and mediation in international economic and trade relations,
- the necessary knowledge of scientific disciplines (linguistics and literary studies) assigned to the above field of study/specialisation,
- ability to have a good grasp of the culture, realities and social relations of the East Slavic area,
- the competence to relate their linguistic and translation competence and to acquire, collect, process and transmit information and work as part of a team.
The knowledge, competences and skills acquired by the graduates enable them to find employment in
- companies operating on the international market or involved in international trade,
- public administration units oriented at international cooperation,
- state and local government administration units,
- production, trade and service companies cooperating with foreign partners,
- marketing, logistics and customer service departments in companies with an international and culturally diverse character,
- advertising and public relations agencies,
- international and non-profit organizations,
- non-governmental organizations, cultural institutions, etc.
