Programme description
The Dutch studies BA programme includes courses in language and literature complemented with cultural components. A graduate of the BA Dutch studies demonstrates a very good command of Dutch (B2+) and English (B2), is aware of linguistic complexities, and has a knowledge of the Dutch speaking area and its people, as well as of its political and social situation. A four-semester module of Cultural History of the Low Countries significantly contributes to the students’ understanding of culture and societies of the present-day Dutch-speaking countries. The curriculum is supplemented by elective courses form the university’s and department’s offers. Classes are conducted by native speakers (from Belgium and the Netherlands) as well as by Polish teachers of Dutch.
